I’m delighted that Chef Luciano has brought forth the culinary wonders of Trattoria Romano Restaurant and the delightful ambiance of Pizzeria Romano Bar and Grill to the heart of Johnston, just moments away from my house. My visits to both establishments have been favorable experiences. I distinctly remember enjoying the exquisite flavors of braised short rib and risotto at the elegant Trattoria Romano. Although it’s been a while since my last visit, the memories of the enchanting atmosphere, impeccable service, and, of course, the delectable cuisine continue to bring a smile to my face.

For more casual dining, I frequently find myself drawn to Pizzeria Romano, a personal favorite for quick and satisfying Italian bites in the Johnston vicinity. The relaxed atmosphere consistently exudes cleanliness and warmth. Upon entry, the eye-catching daily specials board never fails to pique my curiosity. Over time, I’ve had the pleasure of indulging in a few selections from this board, each proving to be exceptionally delightful. Along the path to the open service and ordering area, one encounters an array of essential Italian grocery items available for purchase, alongside a captivating display of tempting desserts within a glass deli case. Notably, the presence of a pizza oven said to be imported directly from Italy, is impossible to miss. It’s within this oven that some of the most exquisite pizzas in the region are carefully crafted.
As you approach the front counter, you’re greeted by a courteous and proficient staff member ready to assist you with your order. The menu boards, positioned overhead against the back wall, showcase a diverse array of enticing options. My culinary adventures have led me to relish soups, sandwiches, eggplant Parmesan with capellini, and, naturally, their iconic pizza. The true essence of this pizza is best savored fresh out of their imported wood-fired oven, a marvel that lends authenticity to each slice. A large pizza effortlessly caters to a family of four, and even two slices prove to be a satisfying meal. Having sampled the cheese and pepperoni varieties, I’m pleased to report that they are nothing short of perfection. Often, I encounter issues with pepperoni being either excessively spicy or oddly flavored, as is the case with certain pizza brands. However, the pepperoni at Pizzeria Romano is flawlessly balanced.
For my taste, the pizza at Pizzeria Romano remains an embodiment of pure greatness. The box itself boldly states, “You’re Going to Love My Pizza,” and I wholeheartedly concur.
For those venturing into Johnston, I enthusiastically recommend an exploration of these establishments. Alternatively, if you find yourself in Lincoln or North Attleboro, do consider paying a visit to their other locations. While I’ve yet to personally experience them, I’m optimistic that the same level of excellence pervades throughout.
