- Pizza Stone
- 1 Lb. pizza dough
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 Lb. sliced peperoni
- 1 Lb. assorted cheese (mozzarella, parmesan, provolone shredded)
- 1 tsp. Italian Seasoning
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 tbsps.. chopped fresh basil (optional)
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll out each portion into an oval shape, about 12-14 inches long.

- Add Filling: Sprinkle seasonings on dough. Spread the shredded cheese evenly over the dough and then add the pepperoni slices on top.

- Fold and Seal: I like to roll the dough from one end to the other like a pinwheel. Press the edges firmly to seal the Stromboli and place the seams at the bottom of the Stromboli to bake.

- Crimp the Edges: To ensure the Stromboli is sealed well I pinch all the open edges together tightly.
- Brush with Olive Oil: If you want a golden, shiny crust, you can lightly brush the top of the Stromboli with olive oil.
- Bake: If you’re using a pizza stone, carefully slide the Stromboli onto the preheated stone using a pizza peel or the back of a baking sheet. If not, place the calzone on a Oiled baking sheet. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
- Optional Parmesan Topping: If desired, you can sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the Stromboli about halfway through baking.
